Abstract

By reconstructing the reading of Mission of the University found in The University and the Division of Labor, we will carry out a critical juxtaposition between the views of José Ortega y Gasset and Manuel Sacristán, emphasizing the critical notes made by the latter, using as a guiding thread the issue of the division of labor, which is implicit in Ortega's text. In the second stage of our discussion, we will seek to clarify how and to what extent Ortega's text influences Sacristán's conception of dialectics.
